while we were wondering in the corridor during the break from Journalism 1 lecture, Alex, Wing Hooi and myself were looking at notice board. it was a tapestry of posters of all sorts, including the ARE YOU M.A.D. concert held by the Christian Fellowship tomorrow evening.
of all the posters of many sizes, Alex pointed out at a poster, with a painted picture on it. as we shifted our attention to that picture, containing a boy and cow caught in a mine explosion at the border of a mine-field, as a herd of cow and a couple of boys looking on to them, something came out of Alex's mouth.
that something was about the picture, but has nothing to do with the reason it was there in the first place. and the reason the picture was in that poster was that it was a competition; a poster competition on a poster. it had something to do with the awareness of war or landmines, and the victims of them. but what Alex said didn't support that point. he said, "hey, look. Instant Rendang! and the other boy is touching the cow's butt!"

Whale Shit!
the title is weird. but what's weirder is the fact that it was written on the board by my lecturer. the weirdest thing is the fact what it is used for. it'll definately knock you off your socks to discover this weird truth! but it isn't weird to find out that Mr Zachary, my lecturer for Intro to Advertising jot down should words on the board. a fun, exciting and cool lecturer, i'm looking forward to his lectures and teaching... i mean, sharing!
and a weirdo like me got his attention! and also the attention of the class!
"Damm!" says Mr Zachary.

II then III, not III then II!
while i wait for Ernest to go grab some dinner together, i've decided not to waste time and post up an entry.
so, if you have read the previous post, you wondered if i had watched STAR WARS Episode III? well, i did manage to wake up on that day, early. just got out of bed to join my brothers, and his friends to catch it!
well, since they've got the tickets before hand, i had to queue up by myself to get a separate seat to watch the same movie. moments before the movie started, Rowen's friends, Anna, Belinda, Jacob, Jia Pei, Jia Wern, Solomon, and Yu Huat arrived. knew a few of them before hand, but got to know all at lunch.
the movie was good, showing how Anakin yield to the Dark side of the force and in the end, became Darth Vader. and here, they introduced the Wookies, and Chewbecca was there as well! but if you had followed the whole saga, you would have known that Palpatine, or should i say, DARTH SIDIOUS was indeed EVIL and cunning! could he be more evil than Darth Vader, one wonders. i'll say he's very, very deceicing! i totally agree with what U-Liang said in his blog HERE!
later, we all had lunch, and discovered that all my brother's friends are involved with the TAR College CF! cool! and they get they're things done while having lunch! that's how i like things done; important issues solved/manage/discussed in informal settings/situation. (though many might not agree with this.)
and this afternoon, i watched STAR WARS Episode II: Attack of The Clones. and at least i know now how things in Episode III came about. i must say, watch the STAR WARS saga!
now, time for dinner. time to wake my brother up. time for FOOD!
Anakin Skywalker stumbling into the Darkside of the Force in Episode III!
Love & Peace!~

The Rojak Series #6
sleeping early is good. but it depends how early you sleep... it can be as early as 9 pm, or as early as 4 am in the morning. but it's good to sleep early!
item no.1
the CF newsletter is once again stalled. to Uncle Cheok's office both Lai Seng and i were supposed to go. but since we needed to get some important stuff, like permit, looks like the visit to Uncle Cheok's have to wait. *sigh*
but on a bright note, at least i got to hand out with Lai Seng, and watch some episodes of STARGATE: SG1! totally cool!
item no.2
before i was typing this, i was co-operating with my brother playing a tough game of DotA. before that, we had supper at mamak in Ampang Point with John Reuben, Angeline and Sui Li, and the girls need not pay, for it was a treat on me. before that, all of us were at church for our 3-in-1 Home Group meeting. before that happened, Item no.1 (above) came first today.
item no.3
hopefully, if i can wake up tomorrow, i mean today, i'll be hitch-hiking along with Rowen and his friends to catch STAR WARS Episode III: Revenge of the Sith. though i haven't watched the previous episode, my English for Mass Comm lecturor, Ms Joanna, told me to skip it, as it focused a lot on the hormone-charged boy. but if i had the Episode II on VCD, would it be okay if i watched Episode III first?
again, if i can get out of bed on time!
item no. 4
i'm reading Lemon Snicket's A Series Of Misfortunate Events, Book of Fifth now. read the fourth on and it's really good! i got addicted to not only the story, but the style Lemony wrote the story, incoperating his own life experinces and sarcastic points of views in it. if gloomy and cynical reading is you wants, get one of his books!
i wonder if the movie, starring Jim Carrey, is that good?
and i wonder if the landing of the moon was as fake as my friends who sent me forwards about it? maybe i can think about it as i sleep.
once in a blue moon.
...."Optimist" is a word which here refers to a person, such as Phil, who thinks hopeful and pleasant thoughts about nearly everything. for instance, if an optimist had his left arm chewed off by an alligator, he might say, in a pleasant and hopeful voice, " Well, this isn't too bad. i don't have a left arm anymore, but at least nobody will ever ask me whether i am right-handed or left-handed," but most of us would say something more along the lines of "Aaaah! my arm! my arm!"

of debates and rainy days.
it rained this evening once again. will it rain again tomorrow evening? high probability it will.
debate: something you use to catch the fish?
well, i am part of the debate team, the negative team with Wing Hooi and Alex. we went head on with Lit Han, Johel and Joan of the affermative team on the motion, "The Concept of The Borderless World Gives an Advantage to The West in Consumerism." the real deal will be held on the 16th of June, in conjunction with the English Week we're going to have in UTAR. and this debate will be held in front of some big shots.
after today's practice (and a short video-shooting), we, the negative team, need to re-strategize our points, approach and attacks again. plus, being in the mete of the others, more practice and research on our side is needed. and being in the Drama & Public Speaking Society of UTAR, both elements of acting and speaking is seriously required (in this particular case) if we want to pull this act off! at the mete of the others in the debate, i need to buck up!
debating isn't really my cup of tea. but hey, it's part of Mass Communication. it's part of a learning process.
looks like i need to prepare an umbrella before hand in the future. both literally and figuraively
PS isn't it weird to see a fire engine on the go on a rainy day?

of rain, quick lectures and first day once more.
*yawn*
today's the first day of the semester. my real results of the past semester aren't out yet, though i'm anxious to know what grades i've obtained since i've passed all the subjects. well, since it's the first day of the semester, i've got to gather with my classmates, friends and seniors (which some of them were of the same year and semester once.) and i guess some were surprised to see me in Year 1 Sem 2 in THIS faculty.
anyway, out of the two lectures, only one was held. when i entered into the first class, i thought the lecturer was there, only to discover that THAT person standing in front of the class was Wilson, the course rep of the PR people. looks like we're going to attend the same lecture, again, and discovered that Ms Nicole is teaching us, again!
and i later spent the rest of the time till the next lecture in the library, with Wing Hooi and Alex. we surfed the Net for information we can use in tomorrow's debate. yeah, the three of us are in the opposition team of a mock debate tomorrow, with the motion, "The Concept of Borderless is an advantage to the West." (or something like that!) and i've not read through what we have found. will read them soon.
Ms Sharon, our lecturer for Journalism 1 gave us 1 hour length lecture, instead of two today. looking forward to see her in the next class, since this class is all about, well, JOURNALISM!
plus, it has been raining for the whole afternoon, and it got worse in the evening. i slept after dinner, and just got up disorientated.
oh, i've just checked out this cool Guyana Proverb, which i can relate (on both sides) sometimes; Some people do all the hard work but others benefit in the end.

so lame....
i woke up abruptly yesterday. it was a quarter pass 12. wanting to watch some Saturday morning cartoons, i immediately rush down to the TV set and switch it on, only to discover that there was some other show in the same timeslot.
while brusing my teeth then that i realized it was Monday, and not Saturday. i felt really silly. the things people do to watch TV, wake up early.
Mask Rider Ryuki is aired on NTV 7 every Saturday at 12 pm
then, it's followed by Yu-Gi-Oh.

The Rojak Series #5
what has happened the past week.
item no.1
i can't take it... i failed to follow whatever i said, to complete MY CHALLENGE. *sigh* the television proved to be more undenialble that i thought.
well, after a day, i failed to keep out with the challenge. after making the pledge, i unconciously watched TV at my father's friend's place, while her son was watching it. that was so dumb of me! i feel like knocking myself on the wall, then kick myself hard!
i think i'll just try NOT to watch TV that often. what say you?
item no.2
Miri is now officially a CITY! congratulations to you!
i guess you Mirians (or whatever you Miri people call yourselves) have officially converted from being town bumpkins to city dwellers.
and do appreciate this city where natural gas and petroleum come from, ok?
item no.3
the circle is complete. the dark lord gets to fulfill his vengence. as they say in the Malay slang, "kasi hentam sama dia!" the the long-awaited moment has finally arrived:
STAR WARS EPISODE 3: REVENGE OF THE SITH is now showing at a cinema near you!
yes, the last episode of the STAR WARS saga is finally here! and my brother and homegroup leader, Iggy, has watched it already. hmmm... i will watch it, after watching EPISODE 2.
i'm not really an avid fan. that explains why i'm not looking forward to paying RM 10 when i can pay RM 6 at student rate. not that fanatic that i would camp outside the theater a month before the release of this film, like fans in US did.
but many question runs through the mind before watching this movie: will it be the best Star Wars movie ever? what will happen to the Republic? what happens to the Jedi Council? what will happen to Anakin? will he succumb to the Dark side? and who's the most evil of all Sith Lords?
with all this in mind, go watch it, ok? just don't get a cheap, pirated DVD 9 copy of it, ok?
hmmm... somethings burning here. a scene from EPISODE 3.
item no.4
did you all notice what today's date is?
it's the 20th of May 2005. put them into numbers, and you get 20052005! cool, eh?
item no.5
i'll be playing bass guitar (and being a back-up singer) for Sunday service again. i've been on stage for 3 weeks in a role! (and this doesn't include the Youth Combined Service!) well, i hope my bass skills have improved, cause i want to excel in what i enjoy doing; jamming with the bass guitar!

answering another challenge!
i've been through a week without drinking tea. (read HERE if you have no idea what i'm talking about.) now, i'm challenging myself with another: surviving a week without the TV!
yes, i'm abstaining from viewing the television for a week, starting from now. i'll try to be as far away from the TV as possible. maybe, i wouldn't even look at the direction of the TV! i'll try my best.
if you have not know me yet, i'm a television junkie. a couch potato. i get hooked to the idiot box at the snap of a finger! and i can invest many, many hours by just sitting in front of it. (i can see a bunch of you readers nodding your head in unison now) and i think it's a bad habit.
there are really interesting shows to watch on TV, interesting series from CSI and LOST to ACCORDING TO JIM and ARRESTED DEVELOPMENT, and also not forgetting THE NAKED CHEF and A COOK'S TOUR. (but hey, there's still more in the list!) oh, and many, many movies to watch too!~
i'm trying to stop the supply of TV viewing into my daily life, and see what would happen. it would be nice not to slip into a coma before the week passes. hahaha!~
hmm... i wonder what's on AXN tonight?
Love & Peace!~

MORE is GOOD!
WOW!~
at first, there was 10. then, there was 250. now, it's 1; 1 GIGABYTE that is!
yes, Yahoo Mail has provides 1 GB of inbox space. as i was checking my e-mail today, i discovered that i only used 5% of the total space i have. it was weird, cause i know i keep a lot of stuff in my inbox, and it should be about 35% percent of space used (yes, that's huge. i know!) i checked it properly, to find out that it wasn't an error or glitch in the program. but it stated the following phrase:
" 5% of 1GB "
KUDOS to YAHOO! for increasing my inbox space! totally awesome. i guess Gmail, the e-mail provider by Google.com is in trouble now... or is it? and Hotmail... let's just not go there.
so, have you checked your inbox recently?
PS Don't SPAM!
Yahoo! Mail... are you "Yahoo!-ing" with it yet?
Gmail... another great e-mail provider!

it's Friday the 13th!
*gasp!*
Today is FRIDAY THE 13TH!~
check this site out to find out why on the 13th of Friday, regardless of year or month, is concider to be a morbid day.
so? what i did the whole day? i was asleep in the afternoon after spending an amount of time online and attended homegroup meeting later at night. had supper at the mamak stall and came back typing this entry.
conclusion: today is just another day. it's just how you look at it and whether you make the best of it that matters.
this is Jason of the horror flick, Friday The 13th.

i just realised....
... that the planning retreat for my uni's Christian Fellowship Society (CF) was suppose to be held around this time, and today (the 13th) will be our last day of the 4-day retreat. we were suppose to go to PD, analyse the past semester's events, plan the activities for the coming semester and enjoy ourselves.
unfortunately, that didn't happen at all. due to time constrain and venue availability, we decided not to have it after a lot of time and effort planning it.
well, we'll just keep that planning retreat in mind next time. some plans just don't materialize. some plans don't work out. some plans just get out of hand. and the others just go according as planned. hmm... this reminds me of THIS ENTRY.
anyway, the blister on my finger is still there, i'm playing the bass this Sunday again, and it's Friday the 13th today! WOW!~

the glare, the blare and nice looking suits: UTAR BALL NIGHT 2005.
*i was suppose to post this up earlier. but better late than none, eh?
this is something people who likes to catch a glimpse of popularity (like me), wear nice suits (like me) and/or have a good dinner with some entertainment (again, like me) would anticipate; a ball night. and this year, UTAR had it's second ball night, UTAR BALL NIGHT 2005, themed "Shades of Differences."
i was there. with a maroon jippa and thinkly gelled hair, i made my way to Crown Princess, KL with a bus. i did not have the car at my exposal that night. plus, the hotel is just a busride away from my house. this time, the venue was in my favor.
i was there late, and so was Woei Tyan and Wei Chuan, who were the people i wanted to meet up with and had my tickets. apparently, a lot of my friends currently studying in FAM, Sg Long either drove here, was driven here or took the bus. and me taking the public Metro Bus no. 28 was slightly embarassing.
frankly speaking, it wasn't as good as last year's. i was one of the informal emcees for the event, and although i hadn't got the chance to taste the food, i knew the buffet was good by the looks of the menu. but then again, it could be acquired preference? the "seven" (six meals + Chinese Tea. tricky, huh?) course Chinese Dinner . for RM 60, THAT was what i have not expected.
lots of mishaps happened here and there. not that well prepared and editted scripts. and the dance didn't go on as planned at the end of it ( i left early, probably they had it then?)
but then again, UTAR just had it's second shot on this event. let's hope it doesn't becomes a trend for the following prom nights. these events should be fun, shouldn't they? i'm willing to give them a chance, and will be waiting for next year's.
i give it a 2 out of 5 stars.

this is something people who likes to catch a glimpse of popularity (like me), wear nice suits (like me) and/or have a good dinner with some entertainment (again, like me) would anticipate; a ball night. and this year, UTAR had it's second ball night, UTAR BALL NIGHT 2005, themed "Shades of Differences."
i was there. with a maroon jippa and thinkly gelled hair, i made my way to Crown Princess, KL with a bus. i did not have the car at my exposal that night. plus, the hotel is just a busride away from my house. this time, the venue was in my favor.
i was there late, and so was Woei Tyan and Wei Chuan, who were the people i wanted to meet up with and had my tickets. apparently, a lot of my friends currently studying in FAM, Sg Long either drove here, was driven here or took the bus. and me taking the public Metro Bus no. 28 was slightly embarassing.
frankly speaking, it wasn't as good as last year's. i was one of the informal emcees for the event, and although i hadn't got the chance to taste the food, i knew the buffet was good by the looks of the menu. but then again, it could be acquired preference? the "seven" (six meals + Chinese Tea. tricky, huh?) course Chinese Dinner . for RM 60, THAT was what i have not expected.
lots of mishaps happened here and there. not that well prepared and editted scripts. and the dance didn't go on as planned at the end of it ( i left early, probably they had it then?)
but then again, UTAR just had it's second shot on this event. let's hope it doesn't becomes a trend for the following prom nights. these events should be fun, shouldn't they? i'm willing to give them a chance, and will be waiting for next year's.
i give it a 2 out of 5 stars.

that's weird...
my computer, the monitor, to be more precise, is going cuckoo. there's something wrong with the display, where it goes fuzzy all of a sudden. it could be the display card too. either way, my computer is aging to an age where it'll breakdown, soon.
with a blister on my right finger after vicious bass guitar playing since Friday, i wonder if i should burst that freaky abnormality off my finger.
the malfunction on my PC has stopped me from doing a lot of things, including updatingmy blog and sending e-mails. thank goodness it's ok, and i would not want to wait for the next time before this piece of technology to go haywire to do some of my essential stuff. thus, i'll start updating my blog after this entry.
Eng Han asked me bout the UTAR BALL NIGHT 2005 entry. it'll be up ASAP.
now, to being the first phase of the blog update progress.
Love & Peace!~

that's TOO much!
*argh*
as the price of diesel increase, so does the bus fare! now, the trip to uni and back is almost doubled! i feel ripped off!~ i can still remember the time where the bus fare for Intrakota (that's the old name for Rapid KL) was only 90 sen, anywhere. then, they turned into the zone system, where the fare differs from 70 sen to RM 1.60 in different places.
and know, it costs RM 2 just to get to town? that's just plain frustrating! and it now cost RM 2 to get from KL to PJ, which a few days ago, was only RM 1.20. again, FRUSTRATING!~
i'm looking for an alternative. it's either the LRT or teleporting devices. how about growing wings?
Love & Peace!~
