Bad Day, Good Pictures.

* i was suppose to post this entry up a few days ago, but due to unforseen circumstances, i can't. this news isn't timely, but it's worth entering it here.

things haven't been going my way on Friday (26th August) and Saturday (27th August). i didn't manage to go for Homegroup, it rained a little too heavy, i got back home later on Friday, was a little disappointed on how much i could do on both days, working in a new enviroment didn't turnout as expected, and many more complaints.

perhaps that was the plan; God's plan. things that didn't go my way might be God's blueprints for me. it's not what i've been through that really matters. what's important is that i learn something from these few events.

anyway, i've captured a few views which i would like to share with you readers.

to me, looking at these pictures gives me comfort and a feeling of awe, that we have a beautiful, creative Creator: God.

freak of nature!

Look, smoking doesn’t happen in the animal kingdom. It’s not natural. This orang utan is obviously a freak.

got this picture of yesterday's THE STAR Youth2 section article. click HERE for more info about the news. the picture kind of reminds me of this entry i posted some time ago. click HERE for that.

anyway, i've finally manage to upload the pictures for my past entry, Rain, rain, come right here! after trying to post up the pictures time after time, the service and computer finally decided to stop joking around and help me.

finals coming... got to study. and i'll write an entry about that soon.

crash and burn!

well, metaphoricly, my computer is somewhat like this....

it has been a hectic week, but thank God the storm is over. i guess i should thank Him again for the strength, calmness, wisdoms and many surprises that happened throughout the week.

not only was i close to being burnout that earns this entry its title; but it's what happened to my computer at home.

just yesterday did my brothers and i discovered that the computer can't open Windows XP OS. we had to re-format the whole computer. and that means erasing all the files, and re-installing Windows into the computer.

it was unclear who casted the first stone, but each of us three brothers have a role to play in this catathropic event. whatever files and pictures that was stored in the computer is now gone. for me, it would be the pictures i took, mp3 files, some games, and assignments. thank goodness i've gotten myself a thumbdrive to save most of my stuff. and most of the pictures, from group photos to anime desktop theme, are retrievable from the Net. so, the damage to me wasn't critical.

the one who suffer most is Ernest, who kept one file too many in the computer. his part comprised of many pictures he took, the many movies and mp3 files he downloaded, and the many unknown files he has in the computer. hmm... sad, eh?

and the worse thing is that i have no internet connection at home till today! but i guess top priority is getting the computer up and running before getting the connection. perhaps Ernest can get the computer fixed, since he's on holiday now.

and for now, the university's internet lab is the next best thing to update my blog.

Rain, rain, come right here!

pictures of the rainy day! lesson here: don't take picures while you're driving.

one word to discribe yesterday: BLISSFUL

it rained yesterday afternoon as i was preparing to return to Sri Petaling after church. but i made a quick dash to Popular in Ampang Point to get some material for my assignment. low and behold, as i was about to step out of the shopping complex, it was RAINING!

yes. this phenomena has not been seen for many, many days ever since the haze was around. click HERE for my pass entry regarding the dreaded haze!

i was really happy, that i didn't even bother to wait for the rain to subside to get to my car. i bet many others were happy as this sign of relief arrived. even THE STAR reported about the incident happening in numorous places, including PJ, that flash floods happened! more inside about it HERE. and i hope you people in Penang are okay.

well, i hope more good things are coming my way. with 4 assignments due this week and a presentation to prepare, i really need to buck up.

GOD, more rain, please?

hazy days

unless you have been staying in the comfort of air-conditioned rock, have not been reading/watching the news, or are currently not in Malaysia, you wouldn't know how the situtation is like here in KL. it has been hazy for the past week.

the haze has been a hazard up to today, since last week. click
HERE, HERE and HERE for more news report taken from The Star Online.

during the day time, it's like the misty fog in Genting Highland. and at night, it's like the fog in London. except it's merely an illusion. this isn't any mist nor foggy, neither is this Genting or London. it's THE HAZE!

one of my fantasies is that Kuala Lumpur would be at least as cold as Genting, if not winter. well, it does look like Genting, but it's hot and dusty, and unheatlhy. this isn't the kind of air you would want to breath in deeply when you wake up first thing in the morning. in a wicked way, God has a sense of humor responding to my dream.

i guess this will be what people will be saying nowadays:

"ah! my face is so dusty. must go back and wash my beautiful face!"
"noooo! my car is so dirty!"
"e-yu! look at Fluffy! how did the cat get so filthy!"
"argh, my clothes not dusty and smelly!"
"can't breath! can't breath!"

hmm... throughout this whole week, a lot has happened. sales of surgical mask shoot up high, schools are close, fishes died, increase in health problems, mamak stalls are not making businesses, etc. i guess the hazy condition has affected many daily routines, but nonetheless, people have the ability to cope with the situation.

but many people have the misconception of the fact it's better to go out at night than the daytime in this situation. well, it's really obivous how polutated the air is during the daytime, but you can hardly see the haze at night. and people still go out, un-masked to mamak stalls or just hanging around. sadly, it's still hazy as it was in the afternoon. the fact you can't see it doesn't mean it isn't there. it's like the wind or the Holy Spirit. it doesn't mean they're not there when you can't see it!

for those who want to experince how is it like to be in a haze-like situation, read the below;

How to create a hazy enviroment:
1. lock yourself in your own room.
2. stuff all available air outlet with cotton.
3. light up a pack of cigaratte (normal, lite, menthol, it doesn't matter.)
4. stay in the room for more than three hours.
5. in an case of emergency (i.e. vomiting, fainting), get out of the room.

advices to all would be take good care of your health by drinking a lot of water, be indoors most of the time, and pray for the rain to come. though, hailstorm would be nice as well.

speaking of indoors, does anyone have a air-conditoned rock for me to stay in?
*cough*

11 days.

it's Tuesday, the 9th of August 2005. and it has been 11 days. 11 days since i left home... for a new one!

for your information, i've now moved to SRI PETALING! i know it's old news, but it's something worth telling, or must be told for that matter. for example, it would be funny for friends of mine who wanted to make a surprise visit to my house in Bukit Indah, Ampang, only to be shocked to see unfamiliar faces greeting them at the gate. and i wish i was there to see the expression on their faces.

moving is not easy. going away from where you are comfortable and know well like the back of your palm to a strange, foreign place, with unfamiliar faces. a change of enviroment would be culture shock to people, if you're unfamiliar with the surroundings. for me, i used to have many Malay neighbours in my neighbourhood. and now, there are more Chinese all around me. not really surprised, since it's like that in where i'm studying.

and for me, who has been staying in Ampang as long as i could remember, i've now moved to somewhere i'm totally clueless about. i've only heard of Sri Petaling when i was in secondary school, been to Bukit Jalil with my schoolmates once and discovered that Zhi-Yong and his brother, U-Liang lived there. then, Sri Petaling isn't something prominent to me. i've never wandered around that area before.

but now, staying for more than a decade of staying in Bukit Indah, i find myself staying in Sri Petaling. once an insignificant area is now my where i call home. i have to discover what Sri Petaling is all about. where's the best place to go mamaking, where to go for dinner, where to get my supply of comics, etc. it's rediscovering your area all over again.

being attached to Bukit Indah for so long, i felt that part of me is still stuck there. all those memories i have staying there. thinking of them makes me smile. heart-aches and good times. it seems like yesterday when my dad asked us to move to Sri Petaling. i only wish i had spent more time doing the things i like. another round of teh ais at the Caltex mamak. another visit to Aik Seng Supermarket for some snacks. another round of nasi goreng pattaya at the Malay stall. all those memories will still be with me.

but i'll still attend my youth meeting at Kevan's place, and attend church services and play the bass guitar in Revival Centre. but now, it takes a little longer to get there.

well, goodbye Ampang, hello Sri Petaling.

a bunch of us were present for the recording last Thursday. those who were there are Chew Chin, Eu Wah, Hoi Yen, J.H., Joo, Lily, Mei, Nicholette, Soi Yee, Yen Yen, and myself. and i learned, that Malaysians are always Malaysians lah. say start at 4, we ended up being in the studio at 6 pm. well, it's POP SHUVIT. i guess it was worth the wait lah.

held in Studio 2, PS performed a few songs, among them are Old School Rocka, Journey (with RuffEdge's Zainal) and Conversations. they really rock, infusing pop and rock in their songs. they songs just get better and better. i would like to invest my money on their latest album, HERE & NOW. to check out more about PS, click HERE.

more photos are to come... i need to ask Sandrien, this French girl i met there for more photos. meeting her was another great thing that happened that day! oh, including getting to know Andy, aka Drummer Boy from Latte@8 and drummer of Estrangled.

ROCK ON, POP SHUVIT!
