Boggled Bout BlurChu's Blog?: Log of a Camp Commander (DAY 3)

* after restarting the computer, a chat over plate of roti bawang and teh ais with Ernest and Collins, and a break, i'm ready to write this blog.
**a lesson to learn from the 3rd day is to NEVER EVER put too much gasoline into a bonfire, if you want to keep your eyebrows!

**** i'm low on cash!

DAY 3

the main highlights of the day is the hill climbing, going into the cave, BBQ and Talent Nite.

but besides that, there was the morning devotion, sermon by Bro. Stephen, and the 2nd workshop.

this time, i attended the 2nd workshop, led by Mr. Jeffery, and we talked more about the characteristics of a leader that we have in us, aspects that we are strong in. as we were doing the questionnaire, Jamie, Jocelyn and i were singing! cool!~

in the afternoon, after the workshop, we were at Gua Singa, a cool and awesome cave. there, with the help of some hikers, we went up the hill beside Gua Singa. and i was ill at that time. my head was spinning, and all i wanted to do was get some rest. but i didn't want to bring a stop to the group of excited campers, so i climbed along. as i was climbing, i chanted like how Chip, the winner of THE AMAZING RACE season 5 said,

" with the blood of Jesus, help me!"
"with His sweat, His blodd..."

well frankly, nothing was a bad as what Jesus as suffered, so i presevered on, with the motivation.

as we were three quarters away from the top, we had to go down. it was too risky for us, as some girls can't take it. it was funny to see people like Nancy squealing all the way from the bottom to the top, and back again. but at this time, people like Shi How, Andrew, Kevin, Lai Seng and the others showed of part of their leadership skills, leading others to the top and finding feasible paths to go up and down.

we reached ground. there, we found out that Aaron and Ms Stephenie were there already! due to work, both of them can't come any earlier. i was glad to see them there!

as the bolder and braver ones dare to venture into the caves, a few of us took the liberty to stay back and get the barbeque started. as Lai Seng and Michelle worked on the BBQ pit and the girld chatted, Aaron and i were cutting wood for the bonfire and the barbeque pit. Aaron and i talked, about his trip to China, my new haircut, Transformers and the fact that there aren't many fat people in China. interesting, eh?

well, from this part from the BBQ to the Talent Nite, i wrote articles for the 1st CF NEWSLETTER! GRAB ONE NOW! but i'll tell you a little lah.

during the BBQ session, we had chicken wings, sausages and Durian (this is courtesy of KK and CY) there. as we fellowshipped, some campers also maintained their duties as Guardian Angels to their sheep. we went back at 8:30 pm, we packed up our stuff, and let the two bonfires go off by themselves. it's awesome to see how pitchblack it really is when you are away from the city lights. it makes you think, "nature is this beautiful, and God is indeed wonderful!"

as we were back at the campsite, we were dead tired. i asked many, whether they wanted to go on with the Talent Nite. some were against it, as they were to tired. others were just tired. but as i think that i don't want the time of my group and others wasted on practicing, i decided that the show must go on! and we did!

at 10:30, after the photo sessions and a good bath, we were all ready. so, as i emceed the whole event, as the judges were well prepared, and the campers anxious. so, GMAIL started of 1st, with their cute performance and big lame, pony-tailed baby! and IXORA had that Satay Burger ad in it, before going on about the work. my group, YELLOW HALOS was third, with lots of Bollywood style singing, and wacky storyline! and last but not least, CILIPADI did a farce about BGR, and had a funky, sexy, eye-popping, speechless group cheer!

and the winner of the whole thing was... hahaha!~ i'll tell you later!

after the whole event, we had our free time. there, i talked to Jasmine and her cousins, played Heart Attack. Jason recorded a few hilarious scene in the room, all in his hand phone. after that, played ping pong with Lai Seng, Shi How and Kevin. although Shi How and Kevin beated us, it was a good match indeed.

it was getting late. i was about to get some sleep, as Eve asked me to check something out. noises were coming out from under her room, so i was summoned to investigate the matter. couldn't find any arcane creature, and was baffled by it. well, told Eve i couldn't find anything, and told her to pray about it. it's the wind, i think.

with that thought, i felt asleep on my bed at 3:00 am, as the others were still chatting outside.

when we reached the cave... Gua Singa, i think.

as we walked up the hill. all fired up!

look! it's a bird! it's a plane! no, it's a beehive! by the grace of God, none were stung by them throughout the whole event, from the start till the end of the BBQ.

those who venture into the cave later that evening. i was unable to go, cause i was feeling under the weather. rather, i was helping out with the firewood and barbeque.
