OF cake, crowdiness and shooting one's own foot.

*As i'm sitting in this CC somewhere in Sri Petaling, I'm wondering how should i start off this entry, what title to put in, and when am i going to get the new computer.

The UTAR Christian Fellowship in PJ had its first meeting on Wednesday, 18th Jan. The event was Welcome Day, obviously to welcome the freshmen and new members into this wacky fellowship. Initially, some problems cropped up, one after another. To cut the long story short, we had Welcome Day unoffically. But despite all those problems, some goodness came about. We had an overwhelming response as more than 30 people turned up. Personally, i think it was an acheivement. But i hope we can still attract that many people in meetings to come. I don't want members registering, but ending up being sleeping members.

After a day of ice-breakers, games and makan, we bid farewell to the new members, and we had a committee meeting after CF. Interestingly, the some of the ex-committee members not only turned up for the event, but stayed back for the meeting as well. There were a lot of confusion, misunderstanding and disagreement going on (READ: war.) The whole situation was uptight that it was as if you were sweating in a sauna. The funny thing was one of the agruement led to the point where both fellows shot their own foot, which was hilarous and was clearly a breakdown in communication.

However, we managed to end the meeting by 7, prayed and forgave one another. Tension settled down after the meeting. I guess it's best to never bring your work/business into your friendship. It ruins those important relationship bridges that told a lot of time, effort and teh tarik to build. After all, it's best to bring any frustrations and problems before the committee during the meeting than while executing a plan.

Yesterday, i got this interesting forwarded e-mail from a friend:

Sometimes we wonder, "What did I do to deserve this?" or "Why did God have to do this to me?" Here is a wonderful explanation!

A daughter is telling her Mother how everything is going wrong, she's failing algebra, her boyfriend broke up with her and her best friend is moving away.
Meanwhile, her Mother is baking a cake and asks her daughter if she would like a snack, and the daughter says, "Absolutely Mom, I love your cake."
"Here, have some cooking oil," her Mother offers. "Yuck" says her daughter."
"How about a couple raw eggs?" "Gross, Mom!"
"Would you like some flour then? Or maybe baking soda?" "Mom, those are all yucky!"
To which the mother replies , "Yes, all those things seem bad all by themselves. But when they are put together in the right way, they make a wonderfully delicious cake!"
God works the same way. Many times we wonder why He would let us go through such bad and difficult times. But God knows that when He puts these things all in His order, they always work for good! We just have to trust Him and, eventually, they will all make something wonderful!
God is crazy about you. He sends you flowers every spring and a sunrise every morning.
Whenever you want to talk, He'll listen. He can live anywhere in the universe, and He chose your heart.
Life may not be the party we hoped for, but while we are here we might as well dance.

Hmm... if we can tahan the hardship and circumstances thrown at us, we can enjoy the sweet, beautiful outcome twice as much. Is your day a piece of cake?

Love & Peace!~
