On this date, two things happened. While one is good, the other is just plain bad.
The good news is that it's the first aniversary of Sui Li, one of my friend and Home Group member, who has accepted Jesus into her live! Praise the LORD! If i've not mistaken, she accept Christ into her life at the TAR Christian Fellowship Camp last year. And they also celebrated that wonderful news. Not to mention that the angels in heavan are partying over this news!
It's great to hear that a person embraced Christianity, but it's better to hear one who has changed a lot once he/she accepted Christ. And i bet that day by day, God has changed and mold him/her into His likeness. Congratulations, Sui Li!
And here is the horrifying thing that happened. Both Angeline and Sui Li insisted and pester me to blog it. Rowen, Alwin, the girls, the Indian waiter and the other patrons at Steven's Corner witnessed it. It happened when i wanted to pay the bill after celebrating Sui Li's aniversary at Steven's Corner, Pandan Jaya:
Indian guy: sap luk kau pun (RM16.50)
Bernard: (showing a blur face) ...
Angeline: Dia tak tahu bahasa cina.
Everyone was laughing...!!!
Indian guy talking chinese(It's kinda normal nowadays) but... Bernard (a chinese) doesn't understand his mother tounge! *oops* hehe...
For more information about the aniversary, do click HERE.
Apparently, the waiters here can speak four kinds of language. And i can only speak two and a quarter (English, Bahasa Malaysia, and the quarter comprises of Hokkien, Cantonese and Mandarin)
I'm a Banana.

Interesting news.
Funny.
Recently, i've discovered these two piece of news from a magazine and from the radio:
1. In Korea, a guy died after playing an online game for 50 hours! The Korean dude, only known as Lee, died of a heart failure after playing an online game in a cybercafe for three days straight. He only took a few hours off to sleep and eat.
2. In U.S., a third grader won a lottery worth a whopping US$ 47 million! Although there is a law about minors gambling, it says nothing about a minor winning a lottery. Thus, it's legal for him to get the winnings. Plus, he bought the winning lottery ticket with his own lunch money! His name wouldn't be announced till he's older.
PS i've uploaded pictures for this entry. Apparently, there's some problems uploading pictures with the blogger.com programs. I had to upload it manually with an online picture storage and some source-codes.
And i've changed the comment posting from anyone to only members, since the comment section is being spammed! Sorry.

The Rojak Series #8
It’s been awhile since I’ve wrote a title with a TRS title. The following items are probably outdated, but nonetheless, have a picture attached to them:
Item #1:
Before the exams, i got myself a new pair of sneakers. Apparently, it was below my budget (RM 30), selling at the price of RM 29.90. But when i was about to pay, i realised there was a sales going on, and it had a 30% discount off!
Check it out: it has velcro straps! It has been more than a decade since i last wore shoes with it.
Item #2:
After watching Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, i continued chewing gum. Apparently, ont everyone enjoy watching this movie. Not because of what happened to Violet, but that the fact it's childish.
What do you think?
Item #3:
I've got bitten by a dog named Rainbow two Saturdays ago at a park. The bruised badly, but that's that. I didn't contract rabies, or developed hyped sense of smell and hearing. Thank goodness i've recovered from it!
*bark*
Item #4:
Have you seen the Vanilla Coke ad on TV? This is how big that glass is. Got this as a free gift for buying two bottles of Vanilla Coke.
Item #5:
Two Sundays ago, this guy came out on New Sunday Times, and the youths were excited about that picture, showing it to the other youths in church, asking them to keep quiet as they themselves giggle about it.
Last Sunday, i made it into a small sign-card. behind the card, it states:
"It says SHUT UP!"
Item #6:
Rowen actually single handedly destoryed a Perodua MyVi car, while driving on the highway. can you believe what i say?
Observe the following pictures:
Perodua MyVi.
After....
Item #7:
Just Pictures.
Winter in Malaysia. Now, THAT'S COOL!
Cats are cute... even if they are in cages.
Love & Peace!~

The Horrors of Digging Up Dirt.
Sometimes in life, there are things that are meant to be left alone. Deserted just as the way it was. Let me elaborate what I meant by this:
Before I went jogging yesterday morning (I can already imagine readers either laughing or eyes wide open when I mention that) I decided to get rid of the weeds in the front yard, which include roughening up the ground a little. After pulling pesky weeds out, I’ve decided to dig the ground a little to get the root out, hence getting rid of the problem from the roots. (pun unintended)
To my horror, I’ve discovered a few of annoying creatures underneath the dirt; there were grubs, a black ant colony, and a centipede (which I had to kill before it could kill me). Centipedes are dangerous enough with its poisonous pincers. But one that actually jumps towards you is more dangerous.
Without a doubt, I took the hoe I was holding, and gave it a few good beatings. As cruel I am to that poor creature, it was heading to my house. My killer instincts was strong than my curiosity side.
That was the last time I’m ever digging the ground there!
this place is now taboo to me.
A grub.
The unfortunately squashed centipede.

Watch Me As I Smile...
It’s a relief! Finally, after weeks of watching cable on a cramped-up 19-inch TV, I get to watch my favorite programs on my original wide screen 32-inch television!
Initially, my dad and I thought that there was a problem with the 32-inch when we installed the Astro decoder. It flickers black and white! Thus, resulting us into viewing our favorite series on the 19-inch. The enjoyment of my brothers and I were as small as the 19-inch; really small.
However, after a trial and error done by the repairman and myself, I’ve discovered that the root of the problem wasn’t the TV; it was the decoder! Apparently, the new decoder was no compatible with the 32-inch.
So, we had to make a sacrifice: viewing the 32-inch tube with the old decoder. Hence, our enjoyment became as big if not bigger that the 32-inch TV!
The crummy new decoder that we can’t use!
On the left: the now, non-functional 19-inch TV. Beside it is the back-to-live 32 inch TV (in full color)!
Love & Peace!~

A Group That Eats Together, Stays Together.
Recently, our HOME Group celebrated the end of the 40 Days of Community program with dinner at Kaki Corner, Taman Billion. We chatted, feasted on chicken meal, and gulped down a lot of juice! While there are others who went on outings and picnics, our group and the other youth groups decided to makanlah. I guess it’s a thing about being a youth and a Malaysian.
What’s the program all about? Basically, it’s a follow-up on the book, 40 Days of Purpose by Rick Warren. And the participants are to use the book, 40-Days of Community, written by him as well. In addition to that, each week, we gather together in a cell group member’s house (in this case, Oliver’s) and watch a video recording of Rick preaching about that week’s message. Basically, the overall theme was about how to help others, people around you since you’re part of a community, in church, the workplace, college, etc.
Last Sunday, it was our turn to take care of the cafeteria, and we had a lot of fun doing it. In between serving hungry patrons and cleaning, we had fun fellowshipping among ourselves and other church members, joke around, taking videos of one another and laughing out loud!
We treated ourselves at a nearby cendol and rojak stall by the roadside. The sun maybe burning down our backs as we all gathered in a table under a small umbrella (and it got more crowded when Kevan and Sis Mei Kee decided to join us later) but a cooling, refreshing bowl of cendol did justice in cooling us down. And perhaps a bottle or two of Kickapoo.
A group of 12 people, sitting by a small table with a small umbrella under a blazing sun. Eating as they fellowship. a nice view, eh?
I guess it’s true; a group that eats together really does stay together. And I love it!
Rowen, giving his quirky smile during dinner at Kaki Corner.
Hmmm... Cendol and Kickapoo on a hot day.
From left: Oliver, myself, Julius with a Starz magazine, Ignatius the Head Honcho, Alwin Hoo, Angeline and Sui Li. Rowen, Ernest and Fergeson were behind the camera. Kevan and Sis Mei Kee were here yet.
Ernest, claming up a fist for Fergeson.
The hardworking stall owners.

Now, what will you do?
Recently, i receive this e-mail from my friend, Melissa Lian, regarding a protest against the rise of oil price. It goes something like this:
IT HAS BEEN CALCULATED THAT IF EVERYONE IN THE WORLD DID NOT PURCHASE A DROP OF PETROL FOR ONE DAY AND ALL AT THE SAME TIME, THE OIL COMPANIES WOULD CHOKE ON THEIR STOCKPILES.
AT THE SAME TIME IT WOULD HIT THE ENTIRE INDUSTRY WITH A NET LOSS OVER 4.6 BILLION DOLLARS WHICH AFFECTS THE BOTTOM LINES OF THE OIL COMPANIES.
THEREFORE THURSDAY SEPTEMBER 22nd HAS BEEN FORMALLY DECLARED "STICK IT UP THEIR BEHIND" DAY AND THE PEOPLE OF THIS NATION SHOULD NOT BUY A SINGLE DROP OF PETROL THAT DAY.
THE ONLY WAY THIS CAN BE DONE IS IF YOU FORWARD THIS E-MAIL TO AS MANY PEOPLE AS YOU CAN AND AS QUICKLY AS YOU CAN TO GET THE WORD OUT.
WAITING ON THE GOVERNMENT TO STEP IN AND CONTROL THE PRICES IS NOT GOING TO HAPPEN. WHAT HAPPENED TO THE REDUCTION AND CONTROL IN PRICES THAT THE ARAB NATIONS PROMISED TWO WEEKS AGO?
REMEMBER ONE THING, NOT ONLY IS THE PRICE OF PETROL GOING UP BUT AT THE SAME TIME AIRLINES ARE FORCED TO RAISE THEIR PRICES, TRUCKING COMPANIES ARE FORCED TO RAISE THEIR PRICES WHICH EFFECTS PRICES ON EVERYTHING THAT IS SHIPPED. THINGS LIKE FOOD, CLOTHING, BUILDING SUPPLIES, MEDICAL SUPPLIES ETC. WHO PAYS IN THE END? WE DO!
WE CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE. IF THEY DON'T GET THE MESSAGE AFTER ONE DAY, WE WILL DO IT AGAIN AND AGAIN.
MARK YOUR CALENDARS AND MAKE SEPTEMBER 22nd A DAY THAT THE CITIZENS OF THE WORLD "ENOUGH IS ENOUGH".
So, i was just wondering how many people would actually follow this instructions? What would you do to prevent people from filling up their vehicles on that day? Barricade the petrol stations? Stone those who pump fuel tomorrow?
What will you do? To fill, or not to fill; that's the question.
Love & Peace!~

life still goes on, in REAL LIFE!
It is presumed that most of my friends who are done with their exams would put titles like “Merdeka! Merdeka! Merdeka!” “Finally, it’s over!” or “Holidays are here!” I’ve decided not to fall in the cliché category this time.
Yes, the holidays are here indeed; four long months of holidays! But it still doesn’t alter the fact that my holidays would be one without the Internet. I’m typing this entry from the university’s internet lab. Even my friends wonder what I was doing here. *sigh*
It’s been awhile since I’ve written any entries due to my exams, and a lot have happened during that period. From new shoes to getting bitten by a dog, funky events did happen. I guess I’ll put it in my next The Rojak Series (TRS). Pictures included.
I know many people who wish they have a digital camera, enabling them to take photos as a compliment to their blog entries. Fortunately, I have one, though it’s a little bulky. Unfortunately, I don’t have a USB wire with me now. I have all the pictures I wanted to post up, but I just can’t upload them. So near, yet so far.
Living without broadband connection for more than two months is like a cold turkey treatment, except it’s colder and no bird meat involved. And the circumstances didn’t improve with the fact that Ernest is hogging the computer in his-most-of-the-time-locked-room. Apparently, it’s his ingenious plan of getting my dad to get Rowen and I a new computer for ourselves. Oh well, hopefully, my dad has enough money to get another, or does he?
I need to get out of this place before I get too glued to it. And I’ve finally watched Charlie and The Chocolate Factory. It has great punch lines in it, and I had a good laugh. It’s for those who have read the book, or are in need of time filler.
And this movie brings a whole new limelight on chewing gum eating, after watching Violet Beauregarde chewing hers. *yuck*
And yes, life still goes on. I just hope it isn’t clichéd, because my life is anything but ordinary. (This line IMHO, is used one time too many.)
