Resolution solution.

i heard this deejay over RADIO 4 late last night. Or early this morning, depends on how you look at it. And he mentions something about coming to the end of the year... yeah, it's the 23rd of September, and we're entering October soon. And in a couple of month’s time, 2005 will appear. I know, some of you maybe shocked that time past by us too fast. And it seems like yesterday that we celebrated New Year 2004 or Chinese New Year... we're in the same boat.

ok... back to the point. The deejay also said something about New Year’s resolution. And he says he plans not to, cause he doesn't believe in them.

New Year's Resolution.

what is it that on New Year's eve or on that day itself, people starts making wishes, or take out a whole list of resolutions for the year? Perhaps the feeling of the-new-year-should-start-off-better attitude?

according to some research i read in June, about half the total number of people stick to their resolution... and only 10% of that actually stick to it. So, why make one in the 1st place when you may get sick of it or fail to accomplish it later in the year? Wouldn’t it just waste you time? Or your money? It implies the same this phrase :

*if practice makes prefect, and nobody's perfect, why practice?*

I don't have a grudge against people making resolutions. I think determining a course of action to achieve a long or short term goal is good. But why make it on a new year?

have you ever though of making it perhaps in the middle of the year, or anytime of the year for that matter? Just think of whatever you want or need to get done, and make that a resolution. For example, I think with my weight of more than 85 kg, I’m overweight (no points for guessing how heavy i am!) I feel like pushing it down to 80 kg by the end of the year. There! That’s a resolution for you! And to achieve the goal, i should exercise more often, eat healthier and live a more balanced lifestyle.

so, the point is, it actually doesn't matter when the resolution is made. the point is whether you KEEP THAT IN MIND AND ACCOMPLISHING IT! that is the what everyone should think of before making a resolution. Thus, they wouldn't be disappointed for not completing it. It all boils down to the effort and discipline you have within.

*yawn*

I’m tired... well, my resolution next year would be not to make any resolution next year.

Love & Peace!~
