Signal It, Then Turn!

"What to do, Malaysian drivers what..." that's what Oliver told me when i told him about how reckless some drivers can be when they do not properly use their signal lights.

Nope, i'm not stereotyping every single Malaysians holding the wheel. Not all drivers on the road got off with the 'kopi licence'. I salute those who abide the rules and regulation, slowing down when the traffic light turns ember, or stopping at the red light at 2am. Is just that, there are times these group of people pisses me off.

Not too long ago, i wrote an article for theSun's U! section the youths's (read: my church friends) opinion on Malaysians' social ethic, about the time when Malaysia was ranked the third rudest country worldwide. Sometimes, what they say about Malaysians and their attitude is just so true, but then again, it's up to you to decide that fact. To read the article, CLICK HERE.

Well, back to the signal light issue in hand. Sometimes, there are those who turn left (or right) which giving the other drivers a chance to know what to do next. Imagine trying to turn right at the T-junction. A car coming from your right just decided to abruptly turn left without a warning. I find this disturbing. He/she wasted my anticipation time to turn right.

Another case is where the signal light is abused. Using the same scenario, but this time, the idiot signal left. As you are prepared to drive out to the clear street, this driver passes the left turning, and drive on through. I also find this disturbing.

I believe people should be re-educated on the purpose and uses of that stick sticking out near the steering wheel. There are times i feel like drivers who abuse the indicator lights should be shot at sight. *argh*

But should they be shot? That's the question.

The Weird Thing....

With some many assignments and commitment to attend to, i decided to push those workload aside, lower my IQ points and do this tag-entry.

I've been tagged Kathleen Tan and Koh Jolene recently, and here's what the entry said:

"Each person starts out by telling 6 weird things about themselves. People who get tagged need to write (in their own blog) 6 weird things as well and state the rules clearly. In the end, you need to choose 6 people to be tagged and list their names. After you do that, leave each of them a comment letting them know you tagged them and the cycle goes on."

Here there are:

1. Everytime i eat tosai bawang, i start from the middle not the side of the tosai. It's something i'm blind about that idiosyncrasy until a friend of mine pointed it out.

2. Many times, i put an all nighter to get my assignments/work done; only to discover i spend the time reading mangas and watching for no reason.

3. Unlike normal righties, i hold my knife with my left hand. I might be striving to be an ambidextrous!

4. The car horn is barely used to honk roadhogs or idiots behind the wheel. Most of the time, it's to alert my friends as i drive by them, as a wassup gesture.

5. Walking has been my passion since i was able to walk. I can walk and walk (and talk the talk?) for a long, long time. Imagine walking from the Ampang STAR LRT station to Ampang Point Shopping Complex or walking from Universiti PUTRA LRT station to Section 17. It helps ease the mind and it's a good short exercise.

Having a good walk-partner is a plus point.

6. There are numerous incident where i found myself sleep driving. It's like sleep walking, only i don't get up from the bed and into the car. Rather, i fall asleep while my car is still moving on the road. It happened too often, and i thank God i'm still alive.

Though there was a time i bumped into a car asleep in front of the red light. The driver though i was furious at the driver for not moving when it was green. *phew*

Now, here's the list of people who i would want to tag:

1. Oliver
2. Sui Li
3. John Rueben (Keep your blog alive!)
4. Cheong Keen
5. Dewgem-ing
6. Anyone else who is reading this!

I'm starving....

Those Melaka Days.

I was suppose to post this up a couple of weeks back. Anyway, here's a picture entry on some of the things i did and place i went while i was taking a break in Melaka.

Here, my adventure to Melaka begins. One step at a time.

The aftermath from feasting on Satay Celup. *Yummy*

Sin Yee and Ian Lee, the first pair of culprits involved with this aftermath.

Second pair of couple, David and Dewgem here with us at the scene of crime!

Chicken ball rice Chicken Rice Balls... as yummy as it sounds, it's a tongue-twister as well!

Watch out human traffic on Jonker Street as people walk by to shop. Not much to see, as we walked there on a weeknight.

One making a wish here. One wonders what wish to make. One thinks of the wish to make. One ponders if wish made was for himself or selflessly for another. One examines the hundreds of copper and silver coins at the bottom. One questions if he's wasting his money on this....

When things are tough, you need to take control of the sail and move along.

I wanted to re-enact a scene from Pirates of the Carribeans, but i feared that i might end up being another patient in House.

Imaging singing Snow Patrol's Chasing Cars while lying down on the floor of the museum. Even Dewgem decided to bail out on us at the last minute. We were motionless on the floor.

As we decided to take a break and post for the camera.

While people like Issac Mendez and Nathan Petrelli (of the TV series Heroes) have the ability to paint the future and fly, respectively, i ened up with the ability to attarct fishes. Interesting, since fish isn't my best liked meat dish.

I bet Rowen's envious when i show his this picture of arms collection here. But then again, he has seen better.

When you're lost, is best to stop and ask the locals on where's the next best cendol stall.

Sorry Justin Tan... no photos of you. Blame the cameraman (or in this case, camerawoman!) Anyway, all was fun, even till we headed back to KL. Though, i slept (a little) while driving back on the highway.

Ivory of Age

Can't believe it happened to me. It's horrifying!

Last night, while helping out Pek Mei with her group assignment, she spotted a strain of white hair on my head. Too prove my disbelief, she yank it out and showed it to me.

I was just too stunned to come to that truth.

This goes to show one of these few outcome,

1. I've been facing too much stress that it's taking a toil on my hair.

2. I've getting old.

3. I was shocked and surprised one time too many.

4. All the above.

Whatever the reason(s) maybe, this just strengthen the fact of the statement that Bernard cannot be a God.

HAHAHA!~ I'm losing it.

Start Off Right

"...Everyday, Lord, I'll
Learn to stand upon Your word
And I pray that I
That I might come to know You more
That You would guide me with every single step I take, that
Everyday I can
Be Your light unto the world

Everyday, it's You I live for
Everyday, I'll follow after You
Everyday, I'll walk with You, my Lord...."

Excerpt from Hillsong United's Everyday

Yiks! As you entering into the month of March, have you ever wondered what you have been doing for the past two months since the beginning of the year?

I'm caught off guard, shaken back into reality as March slipped in as dawn came about. I thought to myself,

"Time does fly by fast. What have i been doing all these while?"

Putting that gloomy piece of information aside, the devotion material i did yesterday morning caught my attention. Taken from Our Journey (Mar-May 2007), the devotion basically talk about how we should start our day right, by putting everything in your live into God's hand, approaching God freshly every day to gain His heart and His perspective on what is before us.

Here are somethings the writter, Crawford W. Loritts, suggested in approaching God daily:

1. Begin the day by pouring out your heart and concerns to God.

2. Acknowledge that He's in charge, and that everything of eternal significance will come only through Him.

3. Decide not to stand in His Way.... Eagerly watch.

Besides a hearty breakfast, the bright golden sun and birds chripping by the window, i don't think there's any other more beautiful way to start a great day than praising and worship God! That's why every day is a present from Him to us - and it's call the present.

I wouldn't have it any other way. All glory to Him!

"1 Give ear to my words, O Lord; consider my groaning. 2 Give attention to the sound of my cry, my King and My God, for to you do i pray. 3 O Lord, in the morning you hear my voice; in the morning i prepare a sacrifice for you and watch."

Psalm 5:1-3
