Is It Worth It?

"An eye for eye only ends up making the whole world blind."

- Mahatma Gandhi

Last week, a group of 23 South Korean Christian volunteers were kidnapped by the Talibans. The leader of this Christian group was killed after the rebel prisoners were not released by the Afghan government by the Friday (July 27) noon deadline. So far, the other hostages are reported to be still alive and okay.

Google the Internet for news about this.

Judging from the situation, i believe have a no-deal policy when it comes to terrorist negotiation. No government would make deals and arrangements with such groups, which would undermine the authority's power, judgement and credibility among its citizens. But under certain circumstances, the government at times have to submit to these dealings (watch 24 to understand this notion).

I guess the world see that the Talibans are good at... err... terrorizing, being a terrorist group after all. I wonder how family members of this faction would react, knowing their father, brothers, siblings or other family members being involved with this inhuman acts. How do they keep their heads up high or walk around in public being 'labelled'. Or how the family members of the Korean hostages would do, when they get a chance to face the Talibans....

History would only prove what these people are either bad or good... which seems more like the former as times and events progresses.

Like everyone, i pray that things will turn out better for these Koreans.

"...Like an angel with no wings
Like a kingdom with no king

What have we become?
A self indulgent people
What have we become?
Tell me where are the righteous ones?
What have we become?
In a world degenerating
What have we become?"

Excerpt from DC Talk's What Have We Become

Love & Peace!~
