makan at Hui Wen's

everyone's content when it comes to food, right?

Well, Rachel, I mean, Hui Wen is one of the person who has been bugging me to update my blog. So, that’s exactly what I’m doing now, at her house. Writing the story about having dinner at her place on Friday night.

Intentionally, the guys, Aaron and I, wanted to cook fried beehoon for dinner last week. We bought stuff like chicken, tuna, mussels, cabbage, etc. and we spent a bomb on the ingredients and some other personal shopping items. It’s a mistake to shop on a hungry stomach, cause you tend to buy more than you want or need.

Anyway, we couldn’t cook dinner due to some unforeseen circumstances… till Friday night. So, both of us decided to cook fried rice. Why the change of menu is still uncertain. But as we were preparing the dishes, the girls, Hui Wen and Angel, disrupted us. It seems that there was a conflict of ideas on how the rice was to be cooked bubbled up in the kitchen. The mushrooms were sliced too big, too much rice prepared, the chicken pieces are too big, yadda, yadda, yadda…. Therefore, we guys decided to leave the kitchen to them.

After waiting for about 45 minutes, the dishes were ready; fried rice and chicken soup. There were pieces of chicken, mushrooms, and cabbages in it. No eggs or mussels were used in the process. And lots of corn in the cream of chicken. It looked good. Hungry tummies gathered around the table. Everyone, Lai Seng, Aaron, Hui Wen, Angel and I. but Enoch was a little under the weather, so we left a small portion for him. Well, too bad he missed out on a great fellowship!

We said grace, and started walloping. Hmmm! Not bad, it actually tasted great, though it needed a little more salt. It was nice, but the best part was that this meal was cooked by our sisters, Angel and Hui Wen! It’s a first for Hui Wen, and it was quite a success for her! We are blessed to have sisters like them! And nobody rushed to the toilet!

What can I say? Home cooked food are the best, like in Hui Wen’s. What should we cook next time? Spaghetti? Sushi?
